Origin

Lateral condyle of tibia, proximal 2/3 lateral surface of tibia & anterior interosseous membrane

Insertion

Medial cuneiform & base of first metatarsal

Actions

  • Dorsiflexion of ankle
  • Inversion of foot
  • Assists in maintaining medial arch of foot

Innervation

  • Peroneal nerve (L4, L5, S1)

Blood Supply

  • Anterior tibial artery
  • Medial tarsal arteries
