Origin

Fibula lower 1/3 or 1/4, anterior intermuscular septum, & interosseous membrane

Insertion

Dorsal aspect, base of the fifth metatarsal

Actions

  • Dorsiflexion of the foot
  • Eversion of the foot

Innervation

Deep fibular nerve (aka deep peroneal nerve), L5 & S1

Blood Supply

  • Anterior tibial artery
  • Perforating branch of the fibular artery
