Origin

Posterior surface of tibia & fibula. Posterior interosseous membrane

Insertion

Navicular tubercle, medial/intermediate/lateral cuneiform, cuboid, bases 2/3/4 metatarsal

Actions

  • Supports medial arch of foot

Innervation

  • Tibial Nerve (L4, L5)

  • Posterior tibial artery
