Anterior mid-shaft of humerus & lateral intermuscular septum

Origin Deep Head

Anterior aspect of humerus & medial intermuscular septum

Insertion Superficial Head

Ulnar tuberosity

Insertion Deep Head

Aponeurosis branching to ulna & anterior joint capsule

Actions

  • Elbow Flexion

Innervation

  • Musculocutaneous nerve, C5-C6 (primary nerve supply)
  • Radial nerve, C7 (frequently contributes)
  • Median nerve (occasionally contributes)

Blood Supply

  • Mainly brachial artery & radial recurrent artery tributaries with additional contributions from ulnar collateral arteries
