  • Long head: Tibial division of sciatic nerve (L5, S1, S2)
  • Short head: Common fibular division of sciatic nerve (L5, S1, S2)

Blood Supply

  • Long & short head: Deep femoral artery and perforating arteries
  • Long head: Perforating branches from profunda femoris artery
