Origin

Anterior surface & medial half of clavicle; anterior surface of sternum; superior six costal cartilages

Insertion

Lateral lip of bicipital groove

Actions

  • Humerus adduction
  • Humerus medial rotation
  • Humerus flexion (clavicular head)
  • Humerus extension (sternocostal head)

Innervation

  • Medial and lateral pectoral nerves (C5-T1)

Blood Supply

  • Pectoral branch of the thoracoacromial trunk
