Insertion
Medial surface of greater trochanter (trochanteric fossa)
Actions
- Laterally rotates the hip joint
- Stabilises the hip joint
- Assists with abduction of the hip when flexed

Nerve to obturator internus (L5 & S1)
Blood Supply
- Obturator Artery
- Inferior Gluteal Artery
- Pudendal Artery
